Our community is coming together in response to COVID-19. The #FortWayneTogether hashtag campaign was developed to help share these stories of community connectivity during these challenging times. Even if we are apart, we can still get through this as a community together.

Headwaters Lifestyle Co and YLNI (Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana) are proud to partner in support of our community with the sale of Fort Wayne Together shirts. These shirts are a wearable symbol of the pride and togetherness this community has shown in the face of hardship. Although we cannot physically be together, the hand heart in the center symbolizes the unity of our community, regardless of physical barriers. The outer circle with the three gaps comes from the city flag. The three white breaks in the blue circle symbolize Fort Wayne's three rivers, which have become a unifying part of our community.
The profits from every shirt sold through May 4th were donated towards a local business of the buyers choice through the fundraisers on the Fund the Fort webpage. The community support has brought about so much good in our community, we want to continue the Fort Wayne Together campaign, but will be shifting gears as restaurants and other businesses prepare to re-open and resume operations. Starting May 5th, and moving forward, we will continue to donate proceeds to different local agencies, organizations, and other entities who are in need of community support. The recipient of the funds will change over time, depending on where the greatest need is at the time. Currently, in honor of Giving Tuesday, proceeds from the purchase of Fort Wayne Together shirts will be equally divided between Amani Family Services, Turnstone, and Cinema Center.

Don't forget to share photos wearing your Fort Wayne Together t-shirt to Instagram using hashtag #FortWayneTogether with your stories about how COVID-19 and community connectedness has affected you, your local business or non-profit, your neighborhood, and others around you. We require all participants to strictly adhere to all public health recommendations and orders related to COVID-19 while participating in this campaign.

YLNI's mission is "to attract, develop and retain emerging leaders through community, professional and social engagement." The Fort Wayne community is invited to join YLNI for a special Hot Spot event at a local restaurant or brewery once the COVID-19 pandemic ends. Hot Spots are a fantastic way to become acquainted with emerging leaders and offer unique opportunities to interact with other community-minded people in a low-key, relaxed atmosphere. Specific details about this event will be released in the future.
